Footloose 40 Years Later and Rescue Dogs
Feel good times with dancing and good boy and girl pups.
Hello, friends to another week of happy quirkiness you’ve been looking for.
Don’t you think yellow flowers always seem so vibrant and full of energy?
Did you know the US Marshall Service have many dogs available for adoption? The dogs have been rehabilitated and are ready for their forever home.
What a great way to adopt a rescue dog!
“The United States Marshals Service (USMS) supports the removal of canines from illegal fighting situations nationwide as a part of its integral role in the Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Program. The enforcement of animal welfare laws is very important to the USMS and we want to assist our partners at this time due to the overwhelming number of canines up for adoption. These dogs have had a tough start to their lives and USMS would like to give each one a chance for a new life in a new loving home. Our partners provide care, treatment, training, and rehoming of these dogs. Each dog has a unique story and we invite you to view the available canines for adoption from our partners. There are a range of canines from puppies to senior dogs for adoption and all have been spayed/neutered and current with all vaccinations. Please contact our two noted partners to see the available dogs for adoption.”
More animal love- Say hello to Hercules, the rescue cat who became a Target model. From Newser:
When authorities discovered 50 or so cats crammed into a car in Minnesota's Chisago County in June 2022, the temperature was hovering around 95 degrees. Officials were able to transport most of the felines to a shelter, but one escaped and went missing—until a month later, when volunteers found him "lying motionless, near death, his fur drenched in urine," per CBS News. Now, a happy ending for the kitty named Hercules, who has since become a proud model for Target.

This week’s book recommendation is from 2009- Scandal by Carolyn Jewel.
The Earl of Banallt is no stranger to scandal. But when he meets Sophie Evans, the young wife of a fellow libertine, even he is shocked by his reaction. This unconventional and intelligent woman proves to be far more than an amusing distraction - she threatens to drive him to distraction. Unlike the women who usually fall at Banallt's feet, and into his bed, Sophie refuses to be seduced. And soon Banallt desires her more than ever - and for more than an illicit affair.
Years later, the widowed Sophie is free, and Banallt is determined to win the woman he still loves. Unfortunately, she doesn't believe his declaration of love and chivalrous offer of marriage - her heart has already been broken by her scoundrel of a husband. And yet, Sophie is tempted to indulge in the torrid affair she's always fantasized about. Caught between her logical mind and her long-denied desire, Sophie must thwart Banallt's seduction - or risk being consumed by the one man she should avoid at all costs...
Why I’m recommending this book- Both Banallt and Sophie are very complex characters who have such intense feelings for one another. What I loved most about Banallt, is the way he sees Sophie. She is known as not being a great beauty, rather petite and very plain looking, but because Banallt has such intense feelings for her, he thinks she is the most gorgeous woman he has ever known.. Sophie also respects Banallt and truly does care for him, but she can’t get passed her own bias towards men who are unfaithful, she places Banallt in that category, because he too was married, and cheated on his own deceased wife.
Usually I tend to look down upon a hero that has so many lovers they’re tripping over one another. But the way Carolyn has written Banallt, and the way he treats Sophie and his feelings for her, I couldn’t help but feel for him, especially when it came to claiming Sophie. And when Sophie allows him to, you may just break down in tears.
Whatever happens this coming week, I send you calming and zen vibes…
