Welcome, back Substack friends. This post for this week will be different than the last I’ve posted since the beginning of this year.
I took this picture this past Wednesday, November 6th, 2024 as another day left, and another evening began. Such simplicity in one picture of trees in the shadow as the sun sets. The sky is blue with a cloud crossing it. So simple, and so uncomplicated. The direct opposite of what life has become for some.
I have so many thoughts swirling in my head that can’t be vocalized or said here. Others will do a better job than me with their words. Words have power. I use words to power me, but sometimes it’s better for others to use their words to empower.
The reason I post pictures of nature, such as flowers and the sky and of trees, is because of that simplicity I wish I could embrace more. Those pictures offer zen, calm, and a beauty I will only experience here on this planet. This planet has so much to offer. But with the events of last week in the Unites States of America, I kept thinking of the scientist, Carl Sagan, and his 1994 book, A Pale Blue Dot.
Again, with one picture taken by Voyager 1, of that pale blue dot know as Earth leaves you speechless, because as Carl said, this pale blue dot is our home in a vast universe we still don’t fully understand.
Why not take a few minutes of your time to watch and listen Carl’s view of the Pale Blue Dot, and reflect on what the Earth has seen, and what is still to come.
Reflect on what you want for yourself for the next few years, and for humanity because we all share this Pale Blue Dot.
