How awesome is it to hear that early voting in the US is breaking records? So is the case in Georgia. From CNN:
“A record number of early votes have been cast in Georgia on Tuesday as residents headed to the polls in a critical battleground state that is grappling with the fallout from Hurricane Helene and controversial election administration changes that have spurred a flurry of lawsuits.
More than 328,000 ballots were cast Tuesday, Gabe Sterling of the Georgia secretary of state’s office said on X. “So with the record breaking 1st day of early voting and accepted absentees we have had over 328,000 total votes cast so far,” he said.
The previous first day record was 136,000 in 2020, Sterling said.”
It’s not just Georgie, breaking records for early voting but also in North Carolina. From Huffpost:
“North Carolinians still recovering from a devastating hurricane set a new record on the first day of early voting in the state.
On Friday, an additional 152,373 voters cast early ballots, according to The Washington Post.
Fellow battleground state Georgia also broke its record for first-day early voter turnout earlier this week. More than 300,000 people cast votes in Georgia on Tuesday, with nearly 300,000 more votes cast on Wednesday.”

Raise your hand if you enjoy aromatherapy like I do. Looks like aromatherapy does help with your health, per Optimism Daily:
“Aromatherapy is often linked to relaxing and creating a peaceful environment, but new research suggests it may provide more than simply a pleasant aroma. A recent study from the University of California, Irvine reveals that diffusing essential oils may improve brain function, particularly in elderly people. These discoveries can potentially change the way we think about aromatherapy, from a tool for ambiance to a possible brain-boosting technique.
Dr. Tara Swart, a neuroscientist, discusses how our sense of smell is closely linked to cognitive function: “Exposing ourselves to a greater variety of scents can improve cognition, including memory and verbal skills, while also creating physical changes in the brain.” This makes aromatherapy a fun and easy technique to maintain brain sharpness as we age.
Aromatherapy may have much more to offer than just a relaxing atmosphere. Diffusing essential oils for as little as two hours each night can greatly improve cognitive performance, memory, and long-term brain health. And the best part? It’s a simple, cost-effective activity that everyone may integrate into their daily routine.
Whether you use a diffuser, light a candle, or simply have more aromatic encounters throughout the day, enhancing your sense of smell may be the key to better cognitive function as you get older.”

This week’s book recommendation is from 2007- Dangerous Love by Lisa Marie Rice.
Riddled with medical expenses after the death of her young brother, Caroline Lake desperately takes in boarder Jack Prescott, a seemingly down-on-his-luck stranger with a high-stakes past who awakens previously unexplored passions in Caroline.
Why I’m recommending this book- If you like steamy, alpha males who fall hard for the women in their life, Lisa Marie Rice is the author to read. Jack’s love for Caroline is all consuming, erotic, sensual, etc... He is one man who would die for this woman and if she rejected him I seriously would believe he would crawl up into a ball and die.
The story happens over a few days but the reader gets sucked into the story and these two people who are so damaged emotionally. If you like a scorching read heavy with bedroom love, Rice is a masterpiece of this, including the stark emotions this unfeeling man has for this woman.
